Heating Elements

Replacement 500,800 and 1200 Watt 240v Heating Element for ATI, Quick calorifiers or any brand using the 1-1/4" BSP/41.91mm and 280mm long.

The element can be tested by a competent person using an electrical meter with the power disconnected. The ohms readings should be similar to the following on 240v elements:

500w = 115 ohms 800w = 72 ohms 1200w= 48 ohms

If you have an open circuit or closed circuit the heating element has reached the end of its life and needs replacing.

Thermostat

Thermostat with reset button for all ATI Calorifiers 1200W, 850W, 500W and Quick water heaters Nautic and B3 series FVSLTB152700A00 or other brands using the Heating element above.

The electric heating element is equipped with the thermostat that has the following dual function.

Temperature setting (T- see picture), cutting off the power to the electrical heating element of the appliance when the preset temperature is reached (It is possible to adjust the thermostat between 13 and 65c (1-5) according to the user’s needs).
Safety: cutting off the power supply to the electric heating element when, in the event of a failure of the appliance, the temperature of the stored water reaches 83c . Start the appliance again a manual intervention is required (manual reset). In this case , follow these steps.
1. Disconnect power supply
2. Remove the electric heating element protection cap
3. Press the reset button located on the thermostat (R – see picture)
4. Put the cover back to protect the electric heating element
5. Restore power

CAUITON ATTENTION: CONNECT THE POWER SUPPLY THE ELECTRIC HEATING ELEMENT ONLY WHEN THE TANK IS FULL OF WATER. THE HEATING ELEMENT IS NOT SUITABLE FOR DRY OPERATION

DO NOT REMOVE THE COVER AS THIS WILL DISTURB THE CALABRITION OF THE DEVICE MAKING IT UNREALIABLE AND WILL REQUIRE REPLACMENT.

If the thermostat is not operating correctly we recommend replacement as it is also a safety device.

On enamelled calorifiers it is recommended to change the anode annually. Access to the anode is via the heating element.

Safety Valve

If the safety valve is leaking check the water tank is full of water and there is no air in the system. Also check the accumulator tank is fitted in the hot water side of the system and the bladder is inflated to the manufacturer's requirements. ( 1.5 bar on Penguin Accumulators). ATI use 4, 6 and 8 bar safety valves. If your calorifier is NOT ATI refer to the manual DO NOT USE.

If the safety valve is leaking check the above and then replace if required with the same pressure unit.

Check / safety valve assembly: the valve is supplied with the appliance and not assembled. It must be fitted on the cold water inlet when installing the appliance.

ATTENTION: do not replace the safety and non-return valve supplied with the appliance with a non-return valve only (clapet).

ATTENTION: connect the water drain of the valve to a rubber hose with an internal diameter of 9.5 mm. This drain pipe must be installed with a constant downward slope and in a place protected from ice.
